We saw a bear in Kansas

Attention wonderful people, we are still in the process of updating from the past couple of days, but this event was too odd to not post immediately. We saw a bear in Scott City, KS. I thought it was a huge German shepherd but upon closer look it was most definitely a bear.. WHAT WHERE ARE WE?! There is literally only grass for miles. This bear was basically in somebody's front yard. It was definitely NOT a dog. We called the sheriff so that they could check it out.. It was just really bizarre. We're in Kansas!! We didn't go back to get a picture because a bear so close to people probably has a disease of some sort and they run really fast... So we're steering clear. But what?!
