It rained on us for about 5 hours. Everything was wet.
We passed a, now familiar, 'road closed' sign and, as usual, decided to ignore it. Here's the bridge we crossed.
We passed this sign
And this one
And finally made it to California!! (Sorry it's hard to read the sign)
The rain let up around 3 and we called our warm showers host to let them know when we were coming. They said they had planned to take us out to dinner.
We made some pretty good time and met our host Ben and his wife Jesse around 645 as try were coming home from the farmers market.
When we got there they showed us their garden with 75 kinds of edible fruits and vegetables. And his auquaponic fish tank system in his basement. He also runs a curbside recycling business.
We then all rode our bikes to a fast food restaurant called Braums. I rode Ben's recumbent bike and he rode mine.
Allie tried it too
We offered to treat them to dinner and they accepted.
After riding back we got all set up inside in this awesome room. Look at the wall!
We woke up the next morning around 830 and cooked eggs and oatmeal for Ben and Jesse(who was still sleeping). It was a little bit of a reversal from other warm showers hosts and quite an experience.
